Our A6 postcard frames are handmade in Utrecht from Utrecht city wood and recycled local materials. Designed for standard A6 postcards (148 × 105 mm), they have all the quality of our custom frames in a package that can be picked up off the shelf.
We source timber from trees that grew inside Utrecht city and, in many cases, can trace each frame to the street where the tree once stood in the city. In these cases, we'll inscribe the rear of the frame with the years its tree was planted and cut down, as well as the Utrecht city street that tree grew on.
For other elements of the frame we use recycled and reclaimed materials wherever possible, including glass and fittings. Because of this, every frame is slightly different and minor imperfections may be present in the recycled glass. We see that as part of the character of the piece.
These frames are made for A6 postcards and similar formats, and each purchase comes with a complementary art postcard from our range. They can be displayed standing or hanging, in either portrait or landscape orientation. Each frame includes a reversible background, with one side off-white and the other anthracite, so you can choose the presentation that suits the image best.
