Clip-On Picture Frame Stand

These are the stands we use with our smaller handmade frames. They are also a useful way to add a tabletop stand to many other small frames with a compatible backing board.

The stand is made from 4 mm square-section steel. It fits into a small socket that clips over the edge of the backing board, creating a clean and removable alternative to a cardboard easel back.

The stand can be fitted for portrait or landscape display. It can also be removed and reinserted flat against the back of the frame for packing, posting or storage.

Choose from three sizes and three finishes, each order includes one clip and one stand. Stocked in our Utrecht workshop for delivery across Europe. For makers, we also offer packs of 10.

Size Guide:

• Small: For frames up to 200 mm tall, with moulding up to 30 mm wide. A good choice for A6 and similarly sized frames.
• Large: For frames up to 300 mm tall, with moulding up to 45 mm wide.
• Gallery: For frames up to 300 mm tall, with moulding wider than 45 mm. Its shape gives the stand sufficient clearance behind a wider frame profile.

Frames taller than 300 mm are not recommended for this system.

Compatibility:

• The clip-on socket is designed for backing boards between 1.8 and 3 mm thick. The lower edge of the backing board must be accessible and there must be sufficient clearance for the socket.
