Red Beech A6 Postcard Frame

Postcard frame handmade in our Utrecht workshop from Utrecht city red beech and completed with recycled local materials. Designed to display standard A6, 148 × 105 mm, format postcards.

Red beech is a cultivated form of European beech, recognisable by its dark purple-red leaves and smooth grey bark. Around Utrecht it is usually found as a planted tree in parks, gardens, estates, etc. Beech timber is fine-grained, dense, and even in texture, with colour that ranges from warm pinks to deep reddish tones.

Glass and hardware are recovered from second-hand sources where possible, and frames are supplied with hardware to hang or stand in landscape and portait and an off-white/anthracite reversable matboard. The frame is supplied for floating mounting, with 2 mm spacers and mounting adhesives.

Choose between a flat frame face or a subtle 10-degree bevel. If a frame is not in stock it can be made to order, usually within two weeks of purchase.
