This design belongs to his work for the Dom Church in Utrecht, where a major restoration began in 1921 under architect D.F. Slothouwer. As part of that renewal of the church interior, Roland Holst was asked to design large stained-glass windows for the transepts. This design drawing was made around 1934 in chalk and black brushwork on cardboard.
